Today we’re talking about treadmill belt maintenance.

Most treadmill belts need to be kept lubricated. The lubrication is what allows the belt to travel frictionlessly across the deck underneath. You need to get yourself some silicone spray or silicone liquid. It must be silicone, do not use any other products.

With silicone spray, what you need to do is about once a month—and again, this is somewhat depending on how often it is used—you need to lift the belt and spray for about 5-10 seconds down each side. Just lift the belt, pull it as high as you can, spray for 5-10 seconds.

This will keep the belt lubricated, which will allow it to travel frictionlessly, which will take some of the load off the motor and the electronics.

Enjoy.
